Eva Fernandez-Amez (Assistant Digital Learning Developer)

Eva has always been involved in communication, educational, and digital projects. During the pandemic, she used a variety of social media platforms to interact with students who found it challenging to engage and keep up with the new educational system. To achieve that, she recorded and edited videos solving problems, hosted interviews with college colleagues, and created a support community.

Having completed her first years of her physics degree in Madrid, she finished her studies as an Erasmus student at Durham University. After graduating, she complemented her studies with courses in social media marketing, web site design and team leadership. She used all those skills to lead a scientific dissemination project through various social media sites, where she produced videos and posts on topics such as General Relativity or the presence of women in science.

Before joining the team, she was part of an internship program working with young people. This included creating interactive material, presentations, and digital content to ensure the audience connected with the information they had to convey.

Her current interests include digital design and pedagogy, project management and videography. In her free time, she enjoys being part of the international community in Durham, playing the guitar and visiting small towns in the UK.
